Postcards from the 1890s and early 1900s

H.G.L.

Henry Garner - Living Picture Post Card Co. (abbreviated H.G.L.) of 18, London-rood, Leicester, England produced a range of postcards in the vicinity of Toronto, in addition to their cards from elsewhere in the world.

Henry Garner’s postcard activity is attributed to the 1904–1910 period. According to one researcher, H.G.L. ceased business following a dispute with their printer late in 1908, with a judgement made against the printer on January 20, 1909.

Below are a sampling of the company’s Toronto scenes.
